  2. Do you scan email for viruses?
Yes, all our hosting plans include incoming email virus scanning. Our virus fingerprint database is updated once per day.

Since we do not guarantee that our software will catch every possible virus or worm that might be sent to you, you should take your own precautions and run your own virus detection software on your own computer as well. You can obtain such software from:

    http://www.norton.com
    http://www.nai.com
    http://www.mcafee.com

  4. How Many Emails can I send out from my account ?
Schnaz has a zero tolerance policy for the use of its network for the spamming or commercial advertisements, which violate the rules and regulations.

In order to prevent our servers from black listing as spam sources or used by spammers we are implementing following limits to Email accounts and mailing lists on each domain.

Please understand that these settings helps us to serve you better with stable resources and gives power to fight against spam. You will also notice reduction in spam emails for your domains.

    A) The maximum each domain can send emails out per day : 800

    B) The number of times email users are allowed to check their mail using POP3 per hour: 30

It means you connect to server every 2 min and download emails. We suggest you to setup your pop client download settings for every 3-5 min instead of 1-2 min.

If you exceed above limits, you will get bounced messages with "undeliverable" messages.

Why ehostpros sets limits on emails ?

Well, all your domains hosted on shared hosting platform which means your server used for hosting multiple domains and other customers share same resources like your domain.

So in order to create stable plaform for all customers and to fight against spamming we set these limits

  6. Problems with email accounts. Please read this troubleshooting guide?
Most of the email problems are related to improper configuration of email accounts either in Email clients or in Cpanel.

If you have any problem with sending/receiving emails please check following things before sending helpdesk ticket.

    1) To send/receive emails Your domain should be propagated to our servers.

    2) Check if your are using correct user name and password.

    3) Make sure that Email account has enough disk space to send/receive emails

    4) Check if domain on which you are having email issues didn't exceeded allocated Disk Quota

    5) Check if you are having correct email configuration or not.

Below are the common settings for sending/receiving mail through outlook.

    Display Name: Your Name
    Email Address: user@yourdomain.com
    Incoming Mail Server Type: POP3
    Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
    Account Name: user@yourdomain.com
( Do not use full email address for default email or catch-all account)
    Password: E-mail account's password

    6) Make sure that you have enabled "My Server Requires Authentication" checkbox in Email properties >> Server options. You can't send emails if it's Disabled.

    7) If you are getting SMTP server not responding errors while sending emails:

Many ISP's blocking SMTP server port 25 due to spamming issues.

In these instances, when you try to send mail via your hosting account SMTP server (mail.yourdomain.com) you will get timeout or No response Error.

We suggest you to call your ISP and try with your ISP SMTP server instead of your mail.yourdomain.com

    8) Check if you can login to webmail ( http://www.yourdomain.com/webmail ) and send/receive emails.

If you have checked all above simple steps and still not able to solve problem please send helpdesk ticket at http://schnaz.com/support.html with your domain logins and email account you are having problems.

We appreciate for checking above simple steps before sending helpdesk ticket.

  7. Someone is sending spam or viruses that appears to come
This type of abuse happens frequently to many domain name owners, since spammers rarely use their own domain names in SPAM and viruses select addresses randomly from other people's address books.

Sometimes spammers just make up return addresses to put in their spam and it is a coincidence that this time they chose one that happens to belong to you. Sending an email that appears to have come FROM someone who did not send it is known as "forging email".

Anyone with Outlook or any other email program can forge whatever address they want in the FROM field of an email, regardless of whether they own the domain name in the address, regardless of whether they have permission to use it, and regardless of whether the domain name even exists or is valid. There is nothing that the rightful owner of a domain name can do to stop people from sending out email with an address in the FROM field using someone else's domain name.

The most annoying part of having someone forge your email address in the in FROM field of their outgoing SPAM is that "nondelivery" and other "bounce notifications" will be returned to you because the undeliverable messages appear to come FROM your address.

There also is nothing that a webhost can do to stop or prevent spammers or virus mails from wrongfully claiming that your email address came FROM or was the sender of a piece of spam or email virus.

The most you can probably do about this is to just delete virus mails and the bounce messages that may be coming to you as the purported sender.

We also suggest you do not use catch-all email which usually attracks more spam and undelivered emails.

  9. What is the correct way to setup my e-mail client to retreive e-mail from my accounts?
    Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express:

    Display Name: Your Name
    Email Address: something@yourdomain.com
    Incoming Mail Server Type: POP3
    Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourisp.com (preferred) or mail.yourdomain.com

  10. What is the default e-mail address for?
This e-mail address, with the username the same as your hosting account, is also known as the "catch-all" e-mail address. In other words, if you have no e-mail accounts setup, this will catch every e-mail sent to anything@yourdomain.com for your retrieval. This will still work even when other accounts are created, which is especially useful if people incorrectly spell the first half of the e-mail address wrong, since you will still get that sometimes-important e-mail. This is the one e-mail account that is setup with your e-mail software with the username only (all other accounts use username@domain.com as the username in their mail software.) This is also the only webmail account that you have "instant" access to within your control panel without having to login first.

  11. Where can I setup new e-mail accounts?
New e-mail accounts can be setup in your control panel by clicking on "Mail" Menu --> "Add/Remove accounts"

  12. Why i am getting spam emails ?
Receiving spam is common now a days, no matter how private or secure your email address can be it is still defenseless against spam. Ideally, spammers have used many tactics and loopholes to retrieve millions and millions of email addresses.

There are several approaches spammers can take to capture email address, for instance, Email Extractors: These software tools are very skilled at scouring the internet for email addresses. Websites, Forums, Alumni sites, news posts, etc. These robots can locate thousands of email addresses on sites per an hour. And spammers run them day and night.

Domain registration records are also a common source used by spammers. Sometimes they sends lot of spam using your email address in from field.

So we can't control spammers fully at this time due to lack of standards in anti-spamming.
